A wonderful surprise

This book is refreshingly written with humor and intelligence. This is perhaps the only "coffee table" book that I have read from cover to cover! The authoress succeeds in presenting unfamiliar chinese and japanese painters names with great skill. She compares them with western artists and writers and paints a coherent world picture for the reader.
