The Earth's Longing
The waves crash in silence against the golden sand carpet. A young woman is writing; her slender fingers tuck the flowing stray hair behind her ear. She looks at the waves; they whisper a white noise with the hope of a lazy conversation. A moment's pause and they return in silence.

Nigel is searching for colors in the sunset. He sips the warmth of his coffee and walks to the window facing the sea. Stray drops of colors that escaped his canvas, sleep on his white shirt. Nigel sees the loud colors of sunset on the horizon and a silent color on the seashore. The girl sitting alone on the seashore is familiar. He replaced the colored goosebumps on his shirt with a fresh colorless white shirt. Those on his skin remain.
