Book Overview

Nightingale, a gypsy Free Bard, is tasked with finding out why the High King of the human kingdoms is allowing the Church to become ever more overtly hostile to non-human sentients, as well as to anything that it does not at least indirectly control, such as gypsies and Free Bards.

just read it :)

music, adventure, interspecies romance, politics ... this is it in a nutshellwhat I liked most about this book is especially the politics and the understanding Lackey shows that I thought was rather lacking in Valdemar books the romance is also quite nicely developed, and all the ingredients - an element of danger, soulmates, friends finding love unexpectedly, and interspecies complications as spice :) great read all the way through

Fabulous!

This was an amazing story that really let you know the characters, their feelings, and what made them. It had a great plot and kept the excitement going through the entire book. Loved it!

Beautiful

This is very, very similar to Winds Triology in that that it refines the lines of magic. I loved it. I would like to see more of Freehold and the Deliambren Fortress city, soon. One thing, though: Nighingale and T'fyrr sound like Darkwind and Elspeth!

Incredible

I found this book to be quite enthralling, and very discriptively written. This series in general is very well written, the political intrigues are much more advanced(if you could call it advanced) than that of the Valdemar series, it really teaches you to accept people, or other beings as they are, and not discriminate against anytning that might be "different" to what you are normally used to. I must say that I was really impressed with this novel, and can't wait to get my hands on the fourth installment: Four and Twenty Blackbirds....

A must read

Mercedes Lackey has not written a better book in the Bardic Choices Series. This book is filled with romance, humor, action, and a well written plot. It leaves you wanting more all through the book
