I loved this book!

I have now read all of Jamie Carie's books. I can not wait for the next one! This book introduced me to her writing. It was wonderful!

Sophomore Release Shines!

What will it take to tame a dragon? And what will become of a Quaker turned Duchess when she learns of her husband's deceit? This dragon knew no other way. He feels his only way out is deception. But some time in the king's tower might prove the sort of motivation he needs to reconsider, that and his newly embraced understanding of God and His ways. But can his wife hang on, knowing her future and that of their baby is at stake? Jamie's sophomore offering is just as intriguing and engaging as "Snow Angel." Again, readers will notice this is not an inside-the-box sort of inspirational fiction. She took risks, especially where passion is concerned. Yet, boundaries are kept, making this novel a true work of Christian fiction. Yes, she pushes the envelope again, but not without the witness of God's work in the lives of some very real characters. Though they face realistic situations of temptation and fear, mistakes and their consequences, they also grow to understand where God is in all the turmoil. The genuineness of Jamie's faith is always apparent in her fiction. I highly recommend Jamie's novels and look forward to "Wind Dancer," her winter release.

God's view of a woman

I have read romance novels since I was 11 years old. I am a Christian but have found that the Christian romance novels out there do not touch the reality of the spiritual aspects I was raised with. Most seem to be superficial with a lack of the realness that the human soul goes through. This book was amazing. It brought out the realness of what rejection from a parent, or anyone that is suppose to love you, feels like. I saw Drake as this larger than life man, who had such potential for a beautiful ministry, but like many of us was broken with rejection and pain. I saw Serena as having the potential to do mighty and powerful things in the Lord, however as I have done countless times, her routine and structure prevented the freedom to explore all that was inside of her. I saw this book as a true testament of the union God made when he designed marriage. I saw the uniting of two people, not only because they love each other, but because their ultimate purpose in life could not have come to full fruition without each other. The challenges and emotions that these two people went through was so true to life. The growth, the finding oneself individually as well as together was written better than I have ever read it before. Jamie is such an honest writer and the ending.... I won't say anything to give it away, but it changed the way I view life. It is the most triumphant ending for women, for Christian strong women!! I loved every second of this book, and I know most everyone will receive something from the pages in it

Wonderful

The Duchess & the Dragon is even better than Jamie Carie's outstanding first novel, Snow Angel. The passion is real but chaste, and the story is a real page-turner. Keep an eye on this talented new writer.

Drake is charismatic and driven but his transformation to a life of servant hood is revealing as he chafes against his new found limitations but is at the same time empowered by the work of his hands. Serena's compassionate nature is palpable and her confusion over her attraction to Drake delightful. The scurrilous intrigue alongside discoveries of faith play out against the backdrop of their growing love and add to the appeal of this evocative and enchanting story. For those who love Deeanne Gist and Julie Lessman, Jamie Carie will not disappoint - with one book she has entrenched herself a place as one of my "must read" authors
