Casting out fears by trusting God

So many books today give children false hope through fanciful tales of magic "things". There are some cute stories out there about necklaces that give little girls confidence, or teddy bears that offer security and freedom from fears, even stuffed bunnies who teach lessons of how to love. But I always find myself explaining to my daughters that our true hope and our most lasting lessons, come from the Lord - anytime we are frightened or lonely or disappointed, we can trust that the Lord will comfort us and give us strength.Celeste Ryan weaves a beautiful mix of sentiment and faith by showing us how we look for something tangible to trust for our comfort (the quilt), but all things of this world will eventually pass away - God is the eternal comforter, healer, confidante, friend. This book is a favorite in our house. The illustrations are eye-catching and unique, the story is smooth and entertaining, and the message is one that will stick with you. The Dream Quilt may be directed at juveniles, but I guarantee adults will enjoy it, as well

The Dream Quilt

This is a sweet story of how a Mom uses the squares on an old quilt to help ease her child's fears at bed time. The illustations are sure to catch a child's eye; they're so colorful. It's a beautiful story and it's a book that's beautiful to look at.

Security is Sublime

This book has impressed children of all ages with the security in kowing God's love. I liked the colorful descriptions and the peaceful tone of the book. One child asked me if he could have a quilt with colors so he could dream colorful dreams , too. Awesome book - hope Mrs. Ryan writes more!

This book is wonderful!!

As a future educator (and a future parent--someday!), I beleive this is one of the best books I have ever read for children. It uses one of the most important tools for learning in young ages--repetition. I loved the story line and the wonderful illustrations. I found something new in the pictures each time I looked at them. Every child should learn this wonderful lesson from this book--God is strong and loving!

One of the best bedtime books I've found for my children.

The Dream Quilt is a beautifully written and illustrated children's bedtime book. The short simple text is great for both parents and early readers. The bright colorfull illustration holds even the most active toddler's attention. The story is about a little boy who is having bad dreams at night. His mother shares with him a special quilt and a "game" that her mother had taught her when she was young. The loving message of safety and security in God's love is suttle but strong enough that even my 3 year old understood the message. Although, this book might be concidered a "christian" book, I doubt if anyone of any faith would find it objectionable. My daughter asks to read this book every night, and even wants to sleep with it under her pillow. Thank you Celeste Ryan and Mary Haverfield for giving us this beautiful book.
