Hot Medieval

This story flew by so fast. A hot & steamy romance you can soak up like a sponge. It didn't overdo the twin thing - or the enemy thing - or even the annoying mistress who was mostly just mentioned in reference. Okay, it was a lot of the typical but extra enjoyable. If you like CM's smooth writing, this one's a must read.

Excellent book - a must have

This is the first book I have ever read by Connie Mason, and after reading this novel, it certainly won't be the last! The storyline was certainly not boring. It kept you reading. Dominic is a sexy, gallant and arrogant man. Rose is a spitfire who learns temperance through her love for the "Dragon Lord". I loved the book and reccomend it to everyone who like historical romance.

Highly recommended!

Set in the year 1214 on English soil, near the border. Dominic Dragon of Pendragon was one of King John's most trusted knights. Even so, the Dragon Lord was surprised when the king gave him Ayrdale. King John had executed the Baron of Ayrdale for treason. Dominic was to immediately take up residence and marry either the widow or the daughter of the deceased Lord. Lady Rose was all thorns on the outside! Trained as a warrior she guarded her mother, twin sister, and people until such time as her father returned. Instead of her father, the Dragon Lord arrived. Knowing the knight would want a meek wife and would chose her twin, Starla, to wed, Rose tricked him into believing the warrior sister was named Starla. Right after the wedding, Starla and their mother left for the convent. Newly married, Rose stayed home (now named Dragonwyck) to deal with Dominic. Except when in bed, the two clashed! Things worsen when her uncle, Murdoc MacTavish, arrived with his men to claim the castle. Rose's marriage would not deter him. He and his step-son, Gunn, would do anything necessary to claim Dragonwyck as his own! ***** NO ONE WRITES LIKE CONNIE MASON! This one is non-stop adventure and lots of strife to keep you reading! It gets no better than this one, Readers! Highly recommended reading! ***** Reviewed by Detra Fitch

Hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! I love all of Connie Mason's books but this one was great. It was extreamly hot. In fact the pages could explode! The love scenes in this are the most passionate I've read in a long time. The hero and heroine are both strong and yet tender. Both are thrown into a marriage by the King and neither really wanted it but when they come together they explode. I liked the hero's best friend Raj but other than him the secondary characters don't have much to do in this story. This is a book I'll read over and over. I loved it. Connie is my favorite author and I can't wait to read her next book. Buy this one!

Good medieval romance

King John orders his knight Dominic Dragon to wed either the widow of a treasonous but now dead baron or their daughter. Though he finds the Ayrdale estate quite enticing, Dominic prefers to remain single, but knows he has no options. However, Dominic is surprised to learn that twin daughters exist. One rips his skin for breathing while the other trembles in fear whenever he exhales. Dominic rejects the mother and the termagant as he figures the meek one would be more malleable and cause the least trouble. However, Rose tricks Dominic into marrying her, the thorny twin because she would do anything for her sibling Starla, who prefers life in a nunnery. Besides wedding the wild one, Dominic has other troubles to contend with would destroy a lesser person with expectations of unreasonable levels of loyalty by King John and problems with his mistress and her uncle, but the worse problem for THE DRAGON LORD is he now loves his tricky spouse. THE DRAGON LORD is an exciting yet humorous medieval romance. The story line is four points taut due to external machinations and six points amusement as Rose always seems to best Dominic who changes from frustration to winks at her actions. New York Times best-selling author Connie Mason shows why she is so highly regarded by fans and reviewers with this robust historical romance that freshens up the overused John scenario with the shrew taming the dragon.Harriet Klausner
