Awesome Refresher

Dr. Dyer speaks about his books on separate tapes. He doesn't read the books word for word. It a an awesome refresher whenever needed. Definitely worth it!

Pulling Your Own Strings by Dr. Dyer

This work instructs the reader on how to assert himself/herselfin a variety of important societal contexts. Do you fearauthority or asking questions or challenging others whenyou feel that the issue merits discussion? Do you wallow inyour own past actions or mistakes? The author explains howto avoid comparison traps and other forms of victimizationaimed at making you feel ill at ease. Be fearful of peoplewho invite you to join in their misery. Most importantly,the author teaches you how to stand up for your own rights,set boundaries and walk away from uncomfortable situations.Be careful of too much subservience to institutions at yourown expense. At the end of the book, the author poses importantsituations where you can gain control instead of feelinglike a victim. This book would be very helpful if you aremanaging people or about to do so.

Great for everyone!

This is a great book to read, whether you're a psych student, teacher, just someone that had the book recommended to them that has no idea about what they're about to read. It shows you why people do things the way they do, what's going on in your mind when you do certain things. (well, an aspect of things anyway). It teaches you how to feel better about yourself. I am a student planning on studying psychology in University, and I thought this was an excellent book. Dr. Wayne W. Dyer really knows what he is talking about.
