An inappropriate PC title; it should have been the Doorperson.

The basic story is that a hotel is due for renovation. Everyone is evacuated. Old Mr. Hersch gets to stay as he has had a stroke and has nowhere to go. Turns out someone is not who they seem to be. So, enter the bad guys (armed to the teeth) hunting for a missing object. They are in for a surprise in the form of a doorman!
Well, by now you have heard that this is supposed to be a “Die Hard” (1988) knockoff. However, the only thing in common is that it takes place in a hotel. Of course, there are the standard bad guys, well played by Jean Reno, and the standard hostages. But Bruce Willis, even though skilled, was not an ex-marine or anything like that.
This is really more of an “Under Siege” (1992) knockoff, where someone pops up unexpectedly with extraordinary skills. Still hard to believe that scrawny 5’ 6¼ inch (1.69 m) Ruby Rose, who thinks she is Angelina Jolie.
Anyway, just because this is a basic formula and maybe not your favorite actors, it was executed quite well and will hold your attention.
