I read this book because it was being used as a sermon source by my minister. The first four steps of the process are simple, easy to follow, and surprisingly effective. I've already figured out why I dislike doctors and what makes me so irritated about paperwork. From step four I learned how my own inner attitudes - some of which I was unaware - were being reflected back to me by these situations. I now keep a little notebook on hand to work through the daily emotional ups and downs most of us suffer and have learned a surprising amount about myself. The last three steps are about forgiveness and I recommend that even if you think this is just silly (as I did) you try it anyway. There is a real peace to be found in thoughtfully forgiving yourself, the source of the problem and the world at large. No, this isn't a kind of truncated 12-step program. The forgiveness is all internal. You never need to actually tell anybody they've been forgiven, especially if they never knew they upset you in the first place! Students of A Course in Miracles will recognize all the premises of this system, but the Course is never mentioned and it isn't necessary to know about it. Some of the book is annoying (for which I have duly forgiven the author!) I found the poetic meanderings less than inspirational and just skipped over most of them. The idea of naming a process like this after the author (Priceless Reflections!) seemed silly so I just ignored that. Once you get past these obstacles, though, the meat of the book is well written, clear, informative and helpful. I will continue to use this system for my own enlightenment and growth.
