A Must Read...

Just the title in today's world seems taboo!!! No matter you be Protestant, Catholic or any of the other faiths, this book will bind you to its pages! The written vision that this book gives, from 100's of years of oral and written history, is both frightening and compelling. Do know that it was compiles over about 100 yrs ago so political correctness is all but non-existent. As a Catholic I can appreciate the writings of Fr. Schouppe, for he not only shows God's justified wrath, he also shows His blind forgiveness! The greatest part of this book is that in the last half you are given INSTRUCTION ON HOW TO AVIOD HELL! Hell and How to avoid Hell

I too could not put this book down. I found it very scary in the beginning but scary in a good way. It got me to go back to confession and make a good confession and to go to confession often. I thought it was very informative in explaining the sins that fall under the commandments. The book makes you realize that Hell is very real and not a place you want to be. It has increased my Catholic faith and woken me up from the luke warm place I was in in my life. I highly recommend it.

Shocking!

As a former Baptist I was leary about reading this book but I am now glad I did. Thank God that I did because I am now clear about the errors of my ways and I have truly come to know the Lord Jesus Christ by entering into his one and only true church, the Catholic Church. Thank God for this book or the "once-saved-always-saved" myth would have surely sent me to hell. Dear fellow Christians, please read this book and learn about what mortal sin is and how it will send you to Hell if unrepentant. God bless!

Will shock you like nothing else!

This book is an absolute must for everyone, regardless if you are Christian or not! You will not be able to put the book down as it captivates you with an absolutely overwhelming feeling of fear and terror. It really causes you to re-evaluate your own conscience and whether or not you are on the path to heaven. This book is especially needed for those who do not know Jesus Christ and for those that do know Him but think they are "once saved always saved." The Bible clearly states that we must accept Christ into our lives in order to be saved from the fires of Hell, but we must also "work out our salvation with nervous trembling." This book discusses these points in great detail as well as many other important biblical facts about Heaven, Hell, and salvation. It's a must buy!

a frightening but sober book. Good reading.

I read this book several years ago. It is without question the scariest book I have ever read. It makes the exorcist movie and book look like a joke. The author is a catholic priest who shows the logic of hell, the catholic position on hell, visions of various saints and individuals who have seen hell. He also refutes the arguments of atheists and other non believers. I am not a catholic, since I believe an individual should follow what he believes to be true. However, this book centers not on persuading others to become catholics, but on the problem of injustice. The author makes a strong case for a strict order of justice in the universe. He shows how even the ancient pagans had ideas of hell. He shows that true justice is rare on earth and hence argues for the existance of a place for true justice ie,hell. It is difficult to refute his arguments for hell, which shows in all probability, there is such a place. When we see so much injustice in this world that rarely goes unpunished and the enormous amounts of evil in it,it is not too difficult to imagine that hell exists. This is a very powerful book. Be warned.
