Spiritual Biography

In our usual understanding of things, spiritual biography is perhaps an implicit contradiction. Biography represents "Bios", literally the writing of a life, the same life of creatures and cells described by biology. And the journey of the spirit, if it is acknowledged at all, appears to lie otside of time and space. Its "experiences" are unconditional. The life story of Heart-Master Da Love-Ananda "answers" (and refutes) popular abstractions about spirits and spritual energies: Spirit is not an it. When Divine Consciousness mysteriously incarnates in the Form of a Person, we have the special reality of a Being who is also unconditoional. In this book Saniel Bonder, a devotee of Heart-Master Da, acknowledges that trying to put such Life into a biography is "like trying to photograph a huricane, or lasso a comet, or to travel into the heart of the Sun".
