Roosevelt's New Deal in the 1930s and Lyndon B. Johnson's Great Society programs in the 1960s. The objectives of these policies are twofold: first, a "labor-centered" approach, and second, a "China-centered" focus. The underlying drivers of these policies lie in the profound divisions within the United States, including worsening economic inequality, social fragmentation, political polarization, and the need for strategic competition with China. Against the backdrop of U.S.-China rivalry, the reshaping of international trade rules is profoundly influencing the adjustment and realization of economic strategies across nations. He is a Distinguished Professor of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program and previously served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Renmin University of China. His primary research areas include open macroeconomics, monetary policy and inflation, and China's economic growth. He has published over 200 academic papers in journals such as Social Sciences in China and Economic Research Journal, and has authored more than ten monographs. He has received numerous honors, including the National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award, the Sun Yefang Economic Science Award (10th and 11th sessions), and the Outstanding Award of the Wu Yuzhang Social Science Prize. He regularly attends national economic situation symposiums (including three premier-hosted economic expert symposiums).
