In 1955 Walt Disney presented the world's first theme park. Disneyland opened with just 18 rides and attractions. Today there are eleven Disney parks around the globe. Visitors can spend weeks at a... This description may be from another edition of this product.
If you have read the previous reviews, then you are aware of the problems. However this book is clearly a work of love. Shaun has a lot of material here. It's a great read for an introduction to Disney history. All of the attractions discussed have concept drawings that are available in other Disney books. However, the little authors such as Shaun don't have the funds to pay the copyright fees. Those fees are huge, so unfortunately, Shaun had to go with no pictures. That said, I have to like this book. Shaun clearly loves Disney and it shows throughout.

This book give us lot of very interesting information but without pictures. It's a bit frustating. Else, my first impression was a few spoofing with the use of a very big font for all pages.

The Disneylands that never were

If you are a Dineyland fan and a Disney "purist" (That's rating Disneyland over Disney World.) as I am you will find this book very interesting. However, in my opinion, you have to know about the park and it's beginning to really find this of value.
Great source of new bits of Disney Park park trivia
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 19 years ago
As a fan of Disney books I found this book to have the most new information about all the Disney parks that I have not come across in any of the traditional disney books. The book also puts together alot of bits that I've read about in other places (such as Walt's Revolution) and how many ideas then turned into some of the more unique parks such as Disney's California Adventure and Tokyo DisneySeas. I also enjoyed reading about what other ideas for rides were planned and what other Country pavilions were considered for EPCOT, hopefully some of these ideas will soon make it into the parks. Unfortunately there isnt any artwork or photos, maybe someday Disney/Hyperion will publish a similar coffee table book with art. It is a very lite and easy read and I highly recommend for disney Park fans.
