To this day it is believed they were poisoned.In 1899 Holloway Helmore's daughter, Anne Sophia Palk, kept a journal during the Second Anglo-Boer War. She lived till the age of ninety-two and was blessed with a very good memory and could tell stories of everything she witnessed throughout her life. This book contains extracts from the journal which she kept on her voyage from England to South Africa in 1877 as well as the journal she kept during the Second Anglo-Boer War.
