A scientist working a prestigious university lab, follows his father's footsteps to continue his work begun on the study of light and lasers. He develops a laser using a red diamond for a focal mirror, but has difficulty convincing the manufacturing world of it's viability, until the Pentagon sees its application in a new and advanced weapon.
Foreign agents, aided by a greedy American General, are working to buy the plans and as many red diamonds as they possibly can, or so the general believes. The general and his associates have no idea how expendable they are.
