They tried to escape to save themselves life, but they unknowingly approached Altair star, which had been standing 17 light-years away from the Earth. There is no way to return to the Earth or Salmer. Only by detecting, the Map of the Galaxy Ahmad can come back his home and Margol can find BlueStone...
