In 2015 a white supremecist entered a historic church in Charleston and joined eleven African American church-goers in a late-night Bible-study. At the close of the hour, he murdered nine of them. This shocking and tragic event is the basis for seven chapters of poetry and a chapter of prose. These chapters are heraldic. They honor the dead and seek the hand of God in the Charleston massacre. This is a book of poetry, prose, and essays. It covers a wide-range of subjects, but always stays near the Charleston tragedy and the issues of salvation, judgment and grace.
