A very personal , biased and entertaining book.

In the great British and European journalistic tradition, Setright makes no pretense of objectivity. This is a personal account, full of second-hand stories and personal reminiscences, largely of the pre-war era. Neverthless, it is a wonderfully readable and entertaining book, which does convey a terrific historical perspective of the evolution and relationships of the European auto industry.As such, this is a book about individuals, and does a fine job of conveying information about the personalities that continue to inform our designs to this day.
