The Designated Broker's Handbook
A California broker is answerable to three separate bodies, and they do not answer to each other. The Department of Real Estate holds the license. The association holds the membership. Every requirement is quoted from a published source " statute, regulation, or organizational policy " with the citation printed beneath it, so any line can be checked against the original. Three appendices close the book: a 69-point supervision audit, a 47-entry violation quick-reference, and a list of primary sources with where to read the current text yourself, free.
Scope is California, deliberately. A book that describes supervision duties in fifty states describes them in none of them precisely enough to be useful.
