The ancient stone tablets of Burrakam tell the story of Rama and Kuaya, a husband and wife living under the oppressive rule of the high priest Shallarum. Under the guise of religious devotion, one Burrakamite is sacrificed every three months. After years of watching these ceremonial killings, Rama, disturbed by this brutal ritual, develops an alter ego to terrorize and protest the despicable rulers of Burrakam. He names his alter ego "The Desert's Wrath." As Rama grows more unhinged, he struggles with an identity crisis, leading him to wonder if he is still truly Rama, or if The Desert's Wrath has completely consumed him. While Rama grapples with this identity crisis, Kuaya struggles to find a path that allows her to seek justice for the oppressed without succumbing to the same inner turmoil. The two ultimately find that there is a greater threat to the people of Burrakam than Shallarum, a psychological pathogen that rewards cruelty with comfort.
