The Descent is a fiction based on reality. It pulls from my own experience as its foundation, but adds on dreams and stories that exist outside of my own world to round out the experience of depression and anxiety. Mental health feels like a lonely and personal process which is why every "poem" is written as diary entries. And what could be more personal than one's own journal.
