The Deer Stand: A View From the Raconteur's head

This is the story of a group of men who decide to go on a hunting trip, they were lifelong friends and buddies. They had been close growing up city kids always in and out difficulties, but never in any real trouble, they played together, fought together, laughed and cried together but, they never left anyone behind. When the chips were down, friends to the end. Their life paths changed with the end of high school. A few of them were drafted into the Military, a couple went off to colleges one or two got married way to young but that's how life goes over time we all found each other again and it was time to have some good old fashion fun, like we did when we were kids. This hunting trip served two purposes at once, we agreed to have a target shooting contest. While we were planning the trip a different course of events was taking place that would eventually affect all of us as a group. The newspapers and television news had been reporting a spate of kidnappings of young and very attractive women and female impersonators dressed in drag. Another story was also taking shape at the same time, over a very short span of days. There had been a rather large number of mutilation murders that seemed not to have any relationship to each other because of jurisdictional territoriality issues, they were kept out of the news until an investigative reporter broke the story still no one knew that the two storylines had the same origin a secret conclave of Satanist had come to the area for a massive sabot to celebrate the renewal of The Queen of all Witches and her court. Simultaneously the ceremony for Satan's Bride and then to bring Satan Back to the earth to stay and rule over man. All this to happen in the same week. WE arrived in the park on Friday morning and set up our tents and made preparation to assemble the Deer Stand the next day. As we were setting up we saw what appeared to be a church group setting up a large tent city as if they were on some kind of retreat on the other side of the canyon just over two miles from us. We could see squarely into the center of their camp, from our vantage point in the Deer Stand, but they could not see us. We saw them engaged in murder, ritualist satanic masses and other strange and mystical things, as time moved on we saw that we had gotten sucked into this madness that eventually had us engaged in a running gun battle to save the kidnapped girls, while enduring such cold weather as we had never seen before at any time in our short lives. As we danced with the devil in the pale moonlight against impossible odds and demons yet unknown to most men.
