This is a "Musical." As an administrator and teacher, along with her husband (a science teacher who also practices law), Victoria Smith Hanker and Professor Hanker, become the founders of an Arts Charter School in a major metropolitan city. They plan to offer an integrated or interdisciplinary curriculum that highlights African American History for some students who want to or do not want to challenge the merits of "The Critical Race Theory" ("CRT"). This "Theory" is an academic and legal framework that holds that systemic racism is pervasive in American society in education, housing, health care and employment. Previously "The Critical Theory" had been taught in higher educational levels. However, some believed it was greatly impacting students in the K-12 educational settings. The challenge then becomes whether "CRT" is relevant for young students; whether it is just a guise for "new racism," or whether it should be disregarded entirely as it deflects and causes many politicians, educators, parents and others to now call for altering historical facts pertaining to the role(s) of African Americans in United States History. The students in the "Play" act as protagonists to determine whose agenda is best served via this "Theory." Hence the "Play" becomes "The Debate" over the "Pros" and "Cons" based on "CRT." The audience also is greatly impacted by the numerous issues of protest raging in today's society. The author is delighted to present a "Musical" with rhythms, essays, songs, poems and dialogues that rhyme in "perfect time."
