War is not a rational act for a Christian nation, but is an inevitability that must be faced when tyrannies break the laws of humanity. Those fighting the wars must depart from their Christian values to overcome and destroy their enemies. They may become conditioned to the responses required for survival in war, and have difficulty recovering the responses that will be required to live in peace. We have a responsibility to these individuals when they return to our peacetime society to aid them to recover after their sacrifices. This collection of poems written by a Marine pilot puts the emotional atrocities of the Vietnam war and its aftermath into verse. Photographs depict Marines flying and servicing A-4 Skyhawks out of Chu Lai, Vietnam circa 1968-69
