Easy read, smart advice

I thoroughly enjoyed The Danger Zone. To be honest, when I picked it up. I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Let's just say accounting was never my favorite subject. But don't worry if spreadsheets and number-crunching aren't your thing, you'll still find this book an easy and intriguing read. The Danger Zone focuses on the prime reason many businesses succeed or fail -- cash flow. But it doesn't tackle it from a purely numbers perspective (thankfully!). Instead, it talks about why business owners lose sight of this all-important metric and warns of the very common trap creative entrepreneurs fall into. I won't describe it here, since I think he does a great job of it, but I am confident that any business owner who reads The Danger Zone will immediately connect with the explanation Jerry provides. I've highlighted numerous sections of this book and will be commenting on them regularly at my blog on TheXBanker. It's one of those books I'll refer to time and again, and will be recommending to the small business owners I work with. I'll also add that I read this book after I met the author at a conference. He's sincere, humble, knowledgeable, and clearly loves what he does. His breadth of experience serving as part-time CFO to many businesses adds to the credibility of his advice. If you have a growing business, or hope to grow your business, The Danger Zone is a must read.
