The Daffodils Are Blooming: Reading Edition

By: Morron, Burton L.

The Daffodils Are Blooming is a deeply personal collection of poetry that chronicles one writer's journey through grief, isolation, creativity, and the strange emotional landscapes of the digital age. Spanning poems written between 2019 and 2026, B. L. Morron explores loss, memory, depression, resilience, and the search for human connection in an increasingly online world.

Divided into two sections-The Lean Years and Russian False Spring-the collection moves from reflections on loneliness, aging, and artistic struggle to an intense examination of parasocial attachment, inspiration, and self-discovery. Throughout, Morron combines humor, honesty, and lyrical imagery to confront both personal shortcomings and universal longings.

At its heart lies a moving tribute to the author's late mother, whose memory blooms throughout the collection like the daffodils of the title poem. Whether meditating on loss, wrestling with the nature of creativity, or searching for meaning in a fragmented world, these poems offer an unflinching portrait of a life examined through verse.

For readers who appreciate contemporary poetry that is candid, reflective, and emotionally resonant, The Daffodils Are Blooming is a journey through sorrow, hope, and the enduring power of words.
