A Must Read!

The most honest, insight, funny and compelling books I've ever read about life as a single women. Especially life as a single Jewish woman (though anyone from any type of ethnic background will be able to relate to the family issues!) I felt like the author read my mind and was telling the story of my life. She reminds you that its okay to feel frustrated, depressed, crazy and dismayed at being singe. She also, and more importantly, talks about how to find your own strength, find yourself, have fun in the journey, let go of worrying about finding someone, be fine with trying to find someone, and be truthful about how you feel while trying to figure out life in your 30s. And not only was the book insightful but it made me laugh out loud. I find it's rare to have a book make you do that. She is a gifted writer, with an ability to thread the story together in a way that will keep you engaged from start to finish. I hope she keeps writing books like this--amazing, strong, funny, smart women like so many of us are, need more books like this!

A voice for us

Being single, jewish, and in my thirties, dealing with the pressure of society and family, Suzanne's book is a voice for us all. I read it so fast, eating up her creative humor, soulfulness, honesty, openess, and her adventurous spirit. Living in a world that looks down on single women in their thirties as a failure, depite all the other goods in the world one contributes, Suzanne gave me hope. I highly recommend this book for any strong single woman who secretly needs a morale boost, hope for her future, and a laugh out load read. This is something you will relate to, and thank Suzanne for writing.

'The curse' is your comedic cure

This autobiographical debut by Ms. Schlosberg is the hilarious account of her 1001 days without sex. ANY woman who has ever been single will relate to Suzanne's dilemnas- family members wondering why she's not married as she's over 30, attending weddings solo when everyone else seems to have a signficant other, etc. She literally travels all over the globe looking for the man who she will deem worthy of breaking her sex-less streak. She volunteers, uses match.com, moves to a new city and travels constantly in her pursuit. Perhaps the most refreshing thing about this book is that Suzanne is smart and confident and knows all along that a man will not make her 'complete' She's just like any other single gal out there. Holding out for someone special. You will root for her, sympathize with her and laugh at her misadventures all the way to the last page. Don't miss The Curse of the Singles Table- it's fantastic fun.

Been There, Done That~ Love it~

This book fell in my hands at the right time (after finding out three of my best friends became engaged within a week of each other). Like most of my friends, I have tried online, bars, religious groups, volunteer groups, and sometimes have just given up looking for that "Mr. Right"! This book has been passed from friend to friend. We know it's possible to be fabulous and single and it is great to laugh along with others who have the same struggles. Awesomely funny, well written, and intelligent book!

I couldn't stop laughing

This book caught my eye -- on my way to buy my niece a birthday present -- and after I read the first page, I had to buy it. I don't know when I've read a funnier book. Even though it's been three years since I was on the "singles market," I still remember everything, of course, and Suzanne captures the torture of it all, mining the humor every step of the way. Bravo! I can't wait to read what she does next.
