A wonderful, positive, easy read for tweens - who doesn't love cupcakes??

I have been a camp counselor for 3rd through 6th graders for three years - This age group is such a fun, vibrant, exciting age and The Cupcakes Club books are EXACTLY what they crave... there's adventure, excitement, the he-said/she-said of those tween years, laughter, sleepovers, and much more. The thing I enjoy most about the Cupcakes Club books isn't just the colorful writing and page-turning excitement, but rather I love the fact that it has such a positive message for these girls. It's not all boys and sleepovers and cupcakes (although there are PLENTY of all three of those in there), but it's topical and really touches on a lot of issues and situations that girls this age face today without getting heavy or over-emotional. The girls I babysit for ADORE these 5 Cupcake girls! They relate to them because the Cupcakes represent all different types of girls. There's a little of all of us in each of these five girls and I think that the author did a WONDERFUL job at capturing the youth and complexity of these characters... Thank you for finally creating a book that I believe not only has a positive message for girls, but is so fun and easy to read for this age group!!
