The purpose of this book is to help the reader come to grips with the terrible occurrences of life for which we sometimes have no understanding. Many of the people who find themselves victims to misfortunes are some who may be consider "good people," and yet these people suffer many horrible life experiences. I believe as you read these pages you might be able to say, "I know someone, or some people who went through something like that. They were always going to church, or, that person was so kind and helpful to so many people in the neighborhood. So, why is this happening to them?" You, no doubt, may be personally able to identify with some of these situations.
Most people cannot see God's perfect will imbedded in the bitterness of sickness, or in the pain of the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, or a relationship. Individuals have turned away from following God because they thought He should have saved them from this dreadful situation or defend them from those who have done wrong to their family, or to their reputation. As you ponder the weight of the problems you face, you wonder, where is God in all this? I want you to know assuredly, God is with you, right there, with you. It is my hope that this book of stories and dramatizations will help you in your time of need to find ". . . the peace of God which surpasses all understanding. . .." (Philippians 4:7a)
