The Creepy Crawly Surprise: A Story About Cleaning Up

By Virginia Chan

Tired of the "clean your room" conversation feeling like a chore for both you and your child?

Alex thinks his messy room is perfect-until he notices something moving under a book. Then something creeping behind a toy box. Suddenly, Alex isn't alone in his room anymore He tries to shoo the mystery guests away, but they just won't take the hint.

Alex and the Case of the Creepy Crawlers is a playful, high-energy story that helps children understand the why behind tidying up. Instead of a lecture, this book uses a "gross-but-fun" mystery to show how a little bit of mess can lead to some very itchy consequences. It's a helpful tool for parents to turn "clean up time" into a lesson about responsibility and hygiene.

Themes: Responsibility, Basic Science Facts, and Tidying Up.

Engaging Mystery: Keeps kids guessing which "guest" will appear next.

The Educator's Corner: Includes thoughtful questions to help bridge the gap between the story and your child's real-life chores.

After solving the mystery, watch Alex's room transform in the animated version on the BMU Stories YouTube channel
