Twelve-year-old Lola has a place for everything, and everything is in its place, especially her crayons, which are lined up in a pristine, color-coded fortress. Her life is a "meticulously curated diorama" designed to keep the unpredictable at bay. But when she discovers a hidden workshop and a dormant, mechanical beast known as the Crayon Dragon, her orderly world is set ablaze. To wake the dragon, Lola must trade her "pristine landscape" for a "vibrant splash of ingenuity" and learn that the most beautiful things are often the most unexpected.
