Tarra is a very intelligent and perceptive African America female that, while she slept, is frequented by historically prominent women who've made significant advancements in society for women of all color. They shaped her disposition and guided her into womanhood by continually questioning her identity. The night of her high school prom she was sexually assaulted by her mother's boyfriend. Her paranoid and insecure mother, Winnie, accused her of backstabbing her and threw her out of her life and into the streets.Willie, Winnie's older brother, promised to give Winnie a house bequeathed to him in their parents will if she could make genuine amends with Tarra. To get the house, she instigated conflicts and planted false evidence to obtain her objectives. For the longtime sibling rivalry between her and her older sister, Brenda, she conspired to destroy her happy marriage. Winnie exaggerated being brutally battered by her ex-boyfriend who escaped from incarceration to get revenge on her, to get Tarra to feel sympathy for her. Tarra loved her mother unconditionally, but realized that in order to begin a promising future, she first has to disconnect temporarily with her and move on with her life.She struggled through the devastating obstacles laid in front of her with the help of other family members, and held onto her faith in Jesus Christ and her cradle never tipped over.
