This is the saga of a man who had to survive during the years of the Texas Cattle Drives, and later, survive the errors of his acts. Han was born in 1858 in Mississippi. After the Civil War, the family left their home and went to Texas. There, Han became a cowboy, working for awhile with his cousin, James Monroe Choate, and then going on cattle drives to Kansas. He went through several phases: as a cowboy, an outlaw, and a ranger. Little is known of his last days, however his story was vivid enough that it endured over the years as family lore.
