Maggie Gillen knows it's only a matter of time before her pathetic excuse for a boss fires her. On one hand, once she loses her job, she will no longer have to deal with her boss, or have to work with Derek Fisher, the bane of her existence for the past six years. On the other hand, she will be unemployed. Maggie spends hours every weekend in a desperate attempt to find something else, any job that will save her from her boss and Derek. And one day, the perfect job falls in her lap, and all her wishes come true. Or so she thinks.

Derek Fisher has had it with his boss, and suspects the feeling is mutual. But leaving the company means no more working with Maggie Gillen, and after six years, he's not ready to break up the dream team. But the fates have other plans for him, plans Derek never sees coming, and when Maggie tells him she's leaving the company, he knows it's his signal to move on, despite the fact he doesn't have so much as a phone number to be able to reach Maggie when she's gone, meaning he'll never see her again. Or so he thinks.
