The Countess of New York

First half of the 20th century. Joseph Freyman, the international respected star architect, is the patriarch of his bustling New York family. His wife Eleonora, n e Alvarez de C rdoba, and the rest of the family get deep into the swirl of morbid liaisons. John Freyman, the couple's first son, accused of homicide, can only escape being arrested by fleeing the city. A sleepy nest in West Virginia becomes his long-term, but in the end deadly sanctuary. Dorian Freyman, John's much younger brother, still suffers by the escapades of his family even in the time when he is running for President of the United States. Not even he himself can conclusively explain who he is in truth. Gregory Delano, a very close friend to the Freymans becomes deeply embroiled in debt to the family. He has to pay for it in a manner that is both pleasant and humiliating. Eleonora Freyman, called "The Countess of New York", clarifies during a family reunion who Dorian Freyman really is. Her incredible confession shows her to be a woman, willing to cross even last conventional boundaries-without the slightest tendency to give up her self-respect.
