What James finds in Val's psyche is that the fate of the world may very well rest in the hands of a chronic underachiever.

The Countdown is a modern day, Earth based science fiction novel. At times it questions freewill, visits virtual realities and contains aspects of crude humor. One character in particular is REALLY crude.
