This book presents an autobiographical study on the construction of the teaching identity of history teacher Jos Clovis Pereira de Oliveira, who works in public schools in Ita and Severiano Melo (RN). Using a qualitative autobiographical methodology, with interviews, documentary analysis and bibliographical research, the author draws on theorists such as Antonio N voa, Ezequiel Theodoro Silva, Brzezinsk, Bittencourt, Imbern n and Selva Guimar es Fonseca. The book is organized into three chapters: the first deals with concepts such as life history, autobiographical methods, memory, teacher identity and teacher training; the second tells the story of his career, from his first school experiences to his work as a teacher; and the third analyses the History course at UERN and its role in his training. He concludes that teaching identity is a continuous process, influenced by psychological, social and structural factors, and defends the importance of a reflective attitude among professionals, especially in the field of history.
