The concept of freedom in Jiddu Krishnamurti

INTRODUCTION Jiddu Krishnam urti has influenced nnillions throughou t the twentieth century. His ideas celebrating spiritual freedom are inspiring now m ore than. ever. His entire philosophy was focused on realizing and explaining human freedom . For him, freedom is the first value of life. "Real freedom is not som ething to be acquired, it is the outcom e of intelligence." Intelligence com es when one understands and breaks away from all limitations. Krishnam urti says, "The essential is that man should be free. He is intrinsically free, and he should by his freedom destroy those limitations which desire in its search for experience has placed around him." Before one tries to understand the philosophy o f Krishnam urti, a brie f outline indicating the early life o f Krishnam urti may not be out o f place.
