This work deals with the question of what constitutes a court, particularly in relation to the term "court" as used in Article 267 TFEU. It examines whether arbitration tribunals can also be regarded as courts within the meaning of Article 267 TFEU and therefore have the right to refer matters to the Court of Justice. It provides a definition of the term "court" and examines the methods of interpreting terms in EU law. Based on the findings, a recommendation is made to broaden the understanding of the term.
