This wonderfully illustrated book will stimulate your imagination and make you want to roll up your sleeves and get gardening. For anyone who wants to expand the living space in your house to the outside, it will help you understand the potential that is there, just waiting to be transformed. You will be able to design and plan any work to make your property beautiful and enjoyable, therefore more livable. It has the best lists of flowers, broken down into easy to understand catagories including: annuals, perennials and biennials, colors, height, time of bloom, soil requirements, etc. I have read this book every year for over 20 years and consider it the best book for gardening. Just ignore the outdated information on dangerous chemicals and you are on your way to having a wonderful, organic flower and vegetable garden. One that you can be proud of and enjoy in all seasons.
