Need to learn HTML, look no more this is the book for you
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 24 years ago
I bought this book knowing what I was going to get myself into, not knowing one bit of HTML. Except that it was used for the internet and I needed to know it to make a site. So I opened this booked and read front to back. This book helped me out so much, it made everything so easy to understand and now I am working for a web design firm making professional websites. All cause of this book. This is a great book for people [w]ho have no idea how to work HTML or for pro's to use as a reference.
The best book for HTML ever!

I was sitting at the library and this book caught my glanced. I had been looking to build a webpage but the other books I purchased were way to confusing with all this computer jargon. So I pick up this book and start browsing through it. I discovered that this book was really easy to read and understand and it taught me everything I ever needed to know about HTML. When I found out that this book included a cd I was ever the more thrilled. The cd has everthing you need to get started including html editors, graphics editors, tons of graphics, gif animators and other really cool stuff. It also gave examples of the html shown in the book. The author of this book also has a website which tells you even more about html. You can join his mailing list and email him. He wrote back to me and actually helped me personally with my site. Well, if you're looking to build a webpage, get this book!
Something New, Nothing Old-THIS BOOK HAS ME SOLD!

McFedries is awesome! Not only was I a master of HTML after reading (even without using a computer the week I read it), but the book was a great resource for questions I had later....and here's the clincher: I emailed Paul McFedries about a problem I was having with some HTML....and he replied. He worked with me a few times until the solution was seen. This guy, this book....EXCELLENT!
An excellent guide for any novice wanting to write a website

Paul McFedries adopts the style of a friendly chat over a cup of coffee. He cuts through the jargon and rapidly inspires confidence - Hey! I could do this! is the message all through. The book is well organised in logical chapters each building on the previous ones to take a simple web page with only text and grow it to a complete web site with pictures, sounds, frames and forms. There are plenty of examples in the text and a very useful CD accompanying the book contains them all plus many other useful graphics and scripts to add to your web site. There are also many suggestions for other sources of help and resources from the Internet. If you want to learn about HTML and writing web sites, this is the book.
Best book for the Idiot, and the Not So Idiot
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 27 years ago
I have a few books on html and designing web pages, including one by Laura Lemay. But I would have to say that The Complete Idiot's Guide to Creating an HTML Web Page is the easiest to follow, beginners or advanced users. The author, Paul McFedries, writes in a way we can all understand and makes reading about html fun (a feat in itself). If you want to design your own web pages, this is *the* book to own.
