A great guide to making your own lures.

Lurecraft is the definitive book on making one's own spincasting lures. Most fishing books focus on fly fishing and creating flys. This book focuses on making wooden lures - from a block of wood through a finished lure. You begin by shaping wood blanks into the forms needed for a spincasting lure. The book then guides you through weighting, painting, wiring, and adding hooks. You end up with a one-of-a-king, usable, believable, working lure. The only potential issue one may have with this book is that it requires a decent level of proficiency in painting (a difficult skill that I have not mastered). This not withstanding, if you are interested in making your own lures as a hobby, this is the book for you
