If you love history and walks and the stories behind things

This is the perfect guide book for people who want to see the city in depth. A friend of mine told me I have the place gene, and THE COMPANION GUIDE books fill that need better than any other guide books. What are some of the most stunning office building interiors in NYC? Where is Peter Stuyvestant buried? Why is NYC the best possible place for the U.N., the headquarters of the world? It is so well written that you can read it for the sheer pleasure of the prose, but each chapter is organized as a walk, and I am chomping at the bit to head out on them all. Great book!
