This book was great. Well written and fun to read (especially if you are from Philadelphia but not just for those from Philadelphia).
The Very Best Writer of "Legal Fiction"
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 22 years ago
I first discovered Mr. Solmssen's novels while in law school in the '70s, and his books still stand as the very best fiction I've read centering on the practice of law. Not only are his accounts of the practice far richer and more realistic than, say, Grisham's -- his characters are real, three-dimensional people, and he develops a sense of time and place that still rings true.It is a shame that this fiction never caught on with the general public, having been crowded out by far inferior competition. Still, the discerning reader would be well rewarded by seeking out from the library or an out-of-print dealer, in order, "Rittenhouse Square;" "Alexander's Feast;" and "The Comfort Letter." Another novel by Solmssen, "A Princess in Berlin," is even better than those three, and a sort of distant prequel.
