The combat of the Amazons of Danxomè

What interests us in this 21st century by doing this work, is to lift the veil on the history of the Agoodji , commonly called "Amazons," and to encour-age female leadership in the different fields of activi-ties in the world. The story tells of the bravery of this iron lady who was also a great artist, hence the name Hangb ("the sweet voice"). It is important to recognize that the reign of Queen Tassi Hangb has also been the subject of controversy, as the system of governance of the kingdom of Danxom is patriarchal. Nevertheless, it has marked history through a rich liv-ing heritage, through its policy of good governance and reforms in the kingdom of Danxom , the current historic capital of the Republic of Benin.
