Love Has No Color....

Greg Weaver and Rebecca Jamison are in love. The problem...the color of their skin. Greg, white, and Rebecca, black, fall in love during a time when there's no crossing the color line. It's thirty years later and Greg tells of his stuggles to love one woman. Rebecca tells her side of the trial and tribulations she went through to be with the man she loves. Cassandra D. Bell has done a wonderful job showing a realistic side of this story. We look forward to reading more novels by Cassandra D. Bell.

Is love colorblind?

Gregory Weaver and Rebecca Jamison are in love. They are next door neighbors, they have grown up together and their families are friends. One might think that falling in love is a natural progression for them. If only things were that easy. Greg and Rebecca have several major hurdles that they must overcome to be together. Greg is white and Rebecca is black, and they live in the south during the 1960's where racism is alive and well. All Greg can see is his love for Rebecca, he has no regard for the consequences that might come with defying the unwritten rules of the Jim Crow south. Rebecca loves Greg, but she is also a realistic and practical person. She knows that if she and Greg date that life will not be easy. All Rebecca wants to do is live a nice quiet life, even though she considers Greg the one great love of her life she has to decide just how important their relationship is. Author Cassandra Darden Bell's, The Color of Love details the love and obstacles faced by an interracial couple. This story is told from the heart and is very realistic. Ultimately, the message this book sends is that love should be about the feelings in your heart, not the color of your skin. Ms. Bell has done a wonderful job and I look forward to reading more of her work in the future.Reviewed by Simone A. Hawks
