The Color of Covering: A Life-Changing African Adventure

By Martha Taylor

In 1970 a young woman from the American Midwest, who has just joined a convent, volunteers as a nurse in a remote mountain village in Uganda under the shadow of Idi Amin's violent regime. But the armed soldiers everywhere will not be the greatest threat to Martha and the children in her care; and neither her innate courage nor her commitment to a life of service prepare her for the traumatic events that force her to leave her beloved new home. She spends the next adventurous decades learning how to question authority and embrace her own strength, finding love, reclaiming her sexuality, reinventing community, healing her trauma and uncovering her true self. Embark on a transformative journey with Martha Taylor in this deeply personal memoir that weaves together tales of courage, resilience and self-discovery, spanning continents and cultures in a life story that reflects the human spirit's ability to overcome adversity and embrace life's beauty. The Color of Covering is an inspiring testament to the power of dreams, community, and the enduring strength of the heart.
