Bobby and Billy had been friends since kindergarten. They did everything together. Even though their parents had never met officially, that did not matter to them, they were just glad they were allowed to play with each other. The end of the fifth grade was drawing near and Bobby's mom was having a party for the class. Everyone said they would come. Everyone except Billy. Billy's father said he couldn't go, and that he could no longer be friends with Bobby because Bobby is Black. Things changed that year for Bobby and Billy. Racism had never been an issue with the two friends, but now it was. They both had to learn how to deal with issues they had never encountered.
