I am amazed that someone can think in these terms. Not only is this an exploration of our sense of archetypes in the truest Jungian tradition, but it also takes a damn fine crack at quantum reality at the same time. Are any of us locked in to our own archetype or do we have the power to alter that reality and still remain within the confines of that archetype. Great reading!
The Collective

The Collective is a Jungian fantasy about the various worlds of Archetypes and their stories. The primary story in this book is about the Queen in Snow White. This Queen suffers an identity crisis when she realizes that her story has a number of variations. The Queen then suddenly starts to ask questions about her role in her story line and her potential abilities to choose her own destiny. Perhaps, she even wants to reconcile with Snow White, after all they are mother and daughter. The Collective is an intellectual fantasy questioning the roles and futures of some of the better-known archetypes such as those in fairy tales, mythology, and religion. The mix of the Queen and Conrad the magic mirror along with Buddha, Jesus, the snake from Eden, and many others creates extremely entertaining situations. Furthermore, the topics of conversion between these entities are both thought provoking and deep, at times downright mind-boggling. This book will be most enjoyed by those well versed and interested in Jungian theory who want an intellectual work out while laughing themselves silly.

The Collective is a witty, enjoyable, fun, and thoughtful romp through fairy tales and Jungian philosophy. I highly recommend it for high school students and adults especially as a Christmas gift this coming season. Enjoy.
