This guy creates awesome, surreal imagery that puts the reader right into where/when/whatever his character is. Reading this book reminds me of those old time "haunted houses" with the distorted mirrors, unexpectedly tilting floors, and other ways of skewing the perceptions to which we've all become accustomed. One gets the feeling, or maybe just the hope, that the character "James Genius" is remaining somehow grounded through it all. Make that, "Stephen King on Acid." This book would translate powerfully to film.

This author has a unique talent for description and detail. An amazing read with lots of suspense and quit-witted humor. Genius, the main character, is a true leader coupled with intense honesty. A recommended read for all.

I thought the author did a nice balancing job between keeping the reader guessing what was coming but still providing enough clues to keep it interesting. The descriptions and images were very detailed and the whole concept was original and not what I was expecting. Overall I enjoyed the book and thought the description on the back cover didn't do the book justice.

Jeff Petrill has an amazing gift for description. "The Coffin Of James Genius" is a suspenseful, imaginative tale that holds gems of wisdom amid the details of the story. All complexities resolve in a surprising ending. An excellent read.

I just finished reading "The Coffin Of James Genius", and found it to be a quick and interesting read. Some very creative images with not too obvious clues throughout the novel. I would highly recommend the book, as a great escape from reality. I hope Mr. Petrille writes another one soon.
